New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly met Wednesday with bank officials, urging them to improve their security measures to help fight a sharp rise in bank robberies. . .
In a meeting Wednesday with some 30 bank representatives, Kelly said there needs to be a return to the measures put in place in 2003, such as the installation of the bullet-resistant glass, better known as “bandit barriers.”
“The steps that bank leaders take today will increase security for their customers and deposits, and decrease the chance that they will become targets for criminals,” Kelly said.
